Rice cooker blackout — Wh honesty

Simple heaters, short cook windows — when mid stations make a pot of rice. Cross-link: Instant Pot · induction · drip coffee.

Rice-cooker honesty

  • Basic cookers often nameplate 400–700 W. Mid stations usually clear continuous W; Wh for a 30–45 min cook is modest.
  • Fuzzy / induction rice cookers can spike higher — measure; some approach Instant Pot heat-up territory.
  • Keep warm after cook quietly drains Wh — unplug when done on battery.
  • Vs Instant Pot: rice cookers are usually gentler continuous loads — see Instant Pot honesty.
  • Vs induction: a dedicated cooker often beats an open pan for Wh and spill risk — see induction.
