Baby gear blackout backup (monitor + bottle warmer + night light + phone)

Overnight outage sizing for the nursery stack: keep the monitor up, warm a bottle if needed, leave a night light on, and charge a phone — quietly, without a generator.

Nursery load stack (planning watts)

  • Baby monitor (parent + baby units / camera). Often ~5–15 W combined while plugged in; battery-backed monitors still want a charged station for the Wi‑Fi / camera brick.
  • Bottle warmer. Typically ~300–500 W while heating for a few minutes — Wh is usually fine; continuous W must clear the spike. Prefer warming while the grid is up when you can.
  • Night light / sound machine. ~1–10 W continuous.
  • Phone charge. ~5–15 W while charging (maps, midwife / family calls).
  • Not medical advice. QuietWatt does not advise on infant care, feeding, or medical devices. Confirm any medical gear (e.g. pumps, monitors prescribed by clinicians) with your provider.

Typical overnight average (monitor + night light + occasional phone, warmer off most of the night): about 10–25 W. Specs from manufacturer pages (checked Oct 2026).

Overnight Wh estimates

Hours ≈ (rated Wh × 0.85) ÷ average watts. Warmer bursts are separate short draws.

Monitor + night light (~12 W)

~20–145 h

286 Wh ≈ 20 h · 1,024 Wh ≈ 72 h (estimates) — easy overnight

+ Phone charge (~20 W avg)

~12–87 h

Still comfortable on 286 Wh+ for one night (estimates)

Bottle warmer burst (~400 W × 5 min)

~33 Wh each

A few warmings barely dent 1 kWh — but need ≥500 W continuous inverter headroom

These are estimates for shopping — measure your bricks with a watt meter if overnight continuity matters.

Comparison: quiet nursery / overnight picks

Filter by job. Prefer low fan noise for shared walls and light sleepers.
