Dehumidifier blackout — Wh honesty
Continuous draw for humidity / basement / mold during outages — mid stations often struggle; high-capacity expandable setups may hold hours, not days. Cross-link: heatwave fan vs AC · sump pump · expandable multi-day.
Continuous draw — mid stations struggle
- Compressor + fan = continuous W. Compact / portable dehumidifiers often pull 200–700 W while running — not a brief spike like a blender; the box pays every hour.
- Why outages care: wet basements, storm moisture, and mold risk rise when HVAC and sump systems are dark — see sump pump backup and storm kit.
- Mid stations struggle. A 300–600 W inverter may clear a small unit; Wh still dies fast (estimates: 1 kWh ≈ 1.5–4 h at 250–500 W). Fridge + dehumidifier together is usually a no.
- Expandables help Wh, not magic. Extra batteries extend hours — they do not lower watts. Plan expandable multi-day stacks if humidity duty must outlast one night.
- Vs fans: a box fan / circulation fan is the Wh-cheap cousin for comfort — heatwave fan vs AC. Dehumidify only when mold / standing humidity is the real job; keep fridge priority first.

Comparison: dehumidifier-duty honesty
Filter by when a station can hold continuous dehumidifier draw.
| Model | Wh · continuous AC | Can / struggle | Humidity honesty | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus Struggle | 286 Wh · 600 W | Small unit only — Wh empties in under an hour at ~300 W. | Prefer fan + dry towels; save Wh for fridge/router. | ~$180–300 |
| Anker SOLIX C300 | 288 Wh · 300 W | Borderline continuous W — many mid dehumidifiers exceed 300 W. | Not a basement mold plan. | ~$200–280 |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Maybe | 1,070 Wh · 1,500 W | Clears most portable units on W — still only a few hours at 400 W+. | Short storm window, not multi-day humidity. | ~$499–589 |
| BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W | Strong continuous headroom — Wh still the gate for all-day run. | Pair with fridge math on fridge runtime. | ~$380–500 |
| Anker SOLIX C1000 Expand | 1,056 Wh → 2,112 Wh · 1,800 W | Expand packs buy hours — continuous W unchanged. | Best mid path when humidity duty must outlast one night. | ~$400–600 |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W class | Solid mid/large portable; expand ecosystem for multi-day. | See expandable multi-day. | ~$600–900+ |
| BLUETTI AC200L Best chance | 2,048 Wh · 2,400 W class | Best Wh/W in this set for continuous dehumidifier + headroom. | Still trade vs fridge/sump — don’t run everything at once. | ~$800–1,100 |
