Dorm mini-fridge + phone + lamp (Wh)
Size a quiet, carryable station for a student mini-fridge, phone charge, and desk lamp through a hall outage. Apartment cousin: apartment blackouts. Compressor surge: fridge runtime. Stairs / weight: stairs-lightweight.
Dorm stack honesty
- Mini-fridge often averages ~40–80 W cycling (thermoelectric can run continuous — measure yours). Still needs surge headroom on compressor models.
- Phone + lamp add ~5–20 W. Easy Wh — fridge dominates.
- Quiet / neighbour rules. Battery > gas in dorms. Fan noise still matters — see quietest noise.
- Weight. Walk-up halls punish 20 kg boxes — prefer <10–12 kg when you move rooms: stairs-lightweight.
- Policy. Some dorms ban high-draw appliances / generators — stations are usually the lease-friendlier path (confirm your hall rules).
