Field-charge drone batteries from a portable station
Hub chargers and OEM bricks draw real watts. Here’s Wh math, USB-C PD vs AC caveats, and when a compact station runs out before your shot list does. Not aviation advice — follow local drone law, airspace, and maker manuals.
Voltage / Wh caveats (honest)
- Use the OEM charger / hub. Plug the manufacturer’s AC or PD charger into the station. Do not freehand balance-charge LiPo from raw DC ports unless you are trained and using proper equipment — fire risk.
- PD watt ceilings. Many drone hubs want 65–140 W USB-C PD. If the station’s PD port is 30–60 W, charge slows or fails handshake — fall back to AC outlet + brick.
- Wh of packs adds up. Three ~60 Wh Intelligent Flights ≈ 180 Wh into packs before charger inefficiency; station usable ≈ rated × 0.85.
- Hot cars & storage SOC. Field charging in heat is a battery-care topic from the drone maker — not something QuietWatt certifies.
- Not aviation / regulatory advice. QuietWatt does not advise on flight permissions, VISION, BVLOS, or airport rules.

Field Wh math (estimates)
Rough packs charged ≈ (station Wh × 0.85 × charger efficiency) ÷ pack Wh. Assume ~85% charger path for planning — measure yours.

Filter by day length. Prefer AC + strong USB-C PD.
| Model | Wh · AC / PD cue | Est. ~60 Wh packs | Field note | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow RIVER 3 Hike | 245 Wh · 300 W AC | ~3 packs class (est.) | Light carry; one hub session — verify PD vs your hub. | ~$150–230 |
| Anker SOLIX C300 | 288 Wh · 300 W | ~3–4 packs (est.) | Same day-trip honesty; AC brick if PD is weak. | ~$200–280 |
| EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus | 286 Wh · 600 W | ~3–4 packs · expand helps | Better continuous headroom for hungrier hubs. | ~$180–300 |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Creator day | 1,070 Wh · 1,500 W | ~12–14 packs class (est.) | Comfortable multi-battery days; still OEM charger only. | ~$499–589 |
| BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W | ~12 packs class (est.) | Quiet for wildlife sets; UPS irrelevant airborne — useful for laptop edit brick. | ~$380–500 |
| Anker SOLIX C1000 Expand | 1,056 Wh → 2,112 Wh | ~12 · ~24 expanded (est.) | Add pack for multi-day shoots without a generator. | ~$400–600 |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 1,024 Wh · strong solar | Base + panels between flights | Car-boot hub for landscape days; expand when packs multiply. | ~$600–900+ |
| BLUETTI AC200L | 2,048 Wh · 2,400 W | ~24 packs class (est.) | Crew / workshop charge table — heavy for hike-in launches. | ~$800–1,100 |
