Dishwasher blackout — Wh honesty

Typically high draw / often impractical on mid stations — heat + pump cycles burn Wh fast. When a station can / cannot run one; vs hand-washing during outages. Cross-link: washing machine · induction · microwave.

High draw — often impractical on mid stations

  • Heat is the gate. Many dishwashers pull 1,200–1,800 W while heating wash/rinse water — same continuous-W trap as washers and induction.
  • Mid stations often cannot. 600–1,000 W inverters fault on heat; even 1,500–1,800 W boxes may only finish a short eco / cold path if measured watts fit.
  • Wh burns a cycle. At 1,500 W heat for 20–40 min plus pumps, one load can eat 0.5–1.5 kWh (estimates) — precious battery for lights/fridge.
  • Vs hand-washing: a basin + cold water + soap uses near-zero Wh. Prefer hand-wash in outages; save the station for food safety and comms.
  • Cousins: air fryer and microwave also spike hard; slow cooker is the gentle cooking cousin that mid stations often can run.

Cycle Wh estimates

Heat ~1,200–1,800 W

Often impractical

Mid stations fail continuous W before Wh math matters (estimates)

Eco / cold path

Maybe big box

If no heater + pumps stay under inverter — measure once; still burns Wh

Honest plan

Hand-wash

Battery for fridge/lights; dishes after grid or skip the machine

Comparison: dishwasher-duty honesty

Filter by when a station can / cannot run one.

Model Wh · continuous AC Can / cannot Vs hand-wash honesty Approx. USD
EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus Cannot 286 Wh · 600 W Cannot — heat out of class. Hand-wash; keep Wh for router/lights. ~$180–300
Anker SOLIX C300 288 Wh · 300 W Cannot. Same — mid stations are the wrong tool. ~$200–280
Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Maybe? 1,070 Wh · 1,500 W Maybe a measured eco/cold path — heated cycles often impractical. One cycle can empty the box; hand-wash wins. ~$499–589
BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W Better continuous headroom — still often impractical for full heat. Prefer slow cooker meals + hand-wash. ~$380–500
Anker SOLIX C1000 Expand 1,056 Wh → 2,112 Wh · 1,800 W Extra Wh ≠ heater clearance — continuous W unchanged. Don’t burn expand packs on dishes. ~$400–600
EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W class Stronger mid chance for a short eco run — heated full cycles still harsh. Still usually lose to hand-wash priority. ~$600–900+
BLUETTI AC200L Best chance 2,048 Wh · 2,400 W class Best W/Wh in this set — can sometimes finish a cycle if measured; still a Wh luxury. Same honesty as washer: often skip. ~$800–1,100
