Hair dryer / styling tools — blackout honesty
What mid-size stations can do briefly with a hair dryer, straightener, or curling iron — continuous watts first, Wh second. Cousin heat loads: space heater · espresso / kettle.
Surge / continuous honesty
- Hair dryers often nameplate 1,200–1,800 W. High heat + high fan is a continuous-W gate most pocket stations fail.
- Low / travel dryers (800–1,200 W) may run briefly on 1.5 kW-class stations — minutes, not a salon session.
- Straighteners / curling irons often average far less once hot (tens to a few hundred watts) but can spike on initial heat — still easier than a dryer.
- Wh math: at 1,500 W, 1 kWh ≈ ~30–35 minutes of dryer time — a quick dry, not blowouts for the household.
- Mid stations win more often on cool-shot / low settings, USB tools, or skipping heat tools until grid returns.

Filter by what mid stations can do briefly.
| Model | Wh · continuous / surge | What mid stations can do briefly | Est. @ 1,000–1,500 W | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus Dryer lose | 286 Wh · 600 W (X-Boost 1,200 W) | Full dryer out of class; maybe wand/iron if under continuous W. | N/A dryer | ~$180–300 |
| Anker SOLIX C300 Tools | 288 Wh · 300 W | Straightener / wand once hot if <300 W — not a dryer. | N/A dryer | ~$200–280 |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Travel dryer? | 1,070 Wh · 1,500 W / 3,000 W surge | Brief travel-dryer window if ≤1,500 W continuous; salon heat still thin. | ~30–50 min class if it runs (est.) | ~$499–589 |
| BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W | Better continuous headroom — still a quick dry, not an hour of styling. | ~30–50 min class (est.) | ~$380–500 |
| Anker SOLIX C1000 Expand | 1,056 Wh → 2,112 Wh · 1,800 W | Extra Wh for a second person — continuous W still gates the dryer. | ~30 min · ~2× expanded (est.) | ~$400–600 |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W / 3,600 W surge | Stronger surge path for tool heat-up spikes; dryer still burns Wh fast. | ~30–50 min solo (est.) | ~$600–900+ |
| BLUETTI AC200L Best buffer | 2,048 Wh · 2,400 W class | Best W/Wh in this set for a longer brief dryer session — still not unlimited. | ~60–90 min class (est.) | ~$800–1,100 |
