Goal Zero Yeti ladder honesty · Week 2

Goal Zero Yeti 1000X vs 3000X — triple the Wh, not triple the job

Skipping the middle rung: Yeti 1000X (997 Wh · 1,500 W · 14.37 kg) versus Yeti 3000X (3,032 Wh · 2,000 W · 31.65 kg) per goalzero.com listings, as already cited on QuietWatt sibling pages. About 3× the Wh for about 2.2× the weight, with a modestly bigger inverter. Feature-class honesty, not a winner crown. Prices: check listing.

Honesty first (read this)

  • No invented Wh, watts, or street prices. Figures reused from QuietWatt siblings Yeti 1000 vs 1500 and Yeti 1500 vs 3000, which copied goalzero.com product pages (checked Oct 2026). Some third-party sites list the 1000X at 983 Wh; goalzero.com states 997 Wh — check listing / label.
  • Both are NMC. Goal Zero rates 500 cycles to 80% for both. See LiFePO4 vs NMC · Goal Zero vs EcoFlow.
  • Same input ceiling. Both list a 600 W max high-power charge port (14–50 V) — so the 3000X takes roughly three times as long to refill from the same source.
  • UPS / pass-through: QuietWatt has no confirmed switchover spec for either — check listing. EPS vs UPS.
  • Availability moves. goalzero.com showed the 3000X as sold out when the sibling page was checked — confirm stock.

Nameplate figures are manufacturer claims (checked Oct 2026) — not QuietWatt lab tests or electrical / emergency-planning advice. Regional SKUs differ; confirm the listing in your market.

  • 12 V high-power port. 180 W vs 360 W (30 A) — matters for 12 V fridges / van builds.
  • Solar. Both share the 600 W (14–50 V) input; panel bundles: check listing. how many panels.
  • Home circuits. Electrician territory. transfer switch · home vs portable.
