Induction / hot plate blackout — Wh honesty
Most mid-size stations lose to induction cooktops and hot plates — 1–2 kW heating elements. Here’s when battery can still make one meal (low power, short boil, camping cooker) and when you should cook on gas instead.
When most mid stations lose
- Portable induction often nameplates 1,200–1,800 W. A 600–1,000 W inverter faults or throttles before the pan gets hot.
- Coil hot plates are similar — continuous watts, not surge marketing, decide the job.
- Wh is the second gate. Even at 1,500 W, 1 kWh ≈ ~30–35 minutes of heat — one pasta boil, not a dinner party.
- Battery can make one meal on a low setting / small travel cooker under continuous rating, or with a 2 kW-class station and a short cook window.
- Cousins: espresso / kettle · microwave — same heating-element honesty.

| Model | Wh · continuous AC | Induction honesty | One-meal path | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus Lose | 286 Wh · 600 W (X-Boost 1,200 W) | Home induction out of class. | USB kettle / camp stove — not a cooktop. | ~$180–300 |
| Anker SOLIX C300 | 288 Wh · 300 W | Loses hard to any hot plate. | Phone + lights only while you cook on gas. | ~$200–280 |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Travel cooker? | 1,070 Wh · 1,500 W | May run a small travel induction if ≤1,500 W — minutes, not hours. | One short boil if label fits. | ~$499–589 |
| BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W | Better continuous headroom than 1 kW minis — still a short cook window. | One meal on mid power if watts clear. | ~$380–500 |
| Anker SOLIX C1000 Expand Wh | 1,056 Wh → 2,112 Wh · 1,800 W | Extra Wh ≠ extra continuous W for a 2 kW hob. | Longer simmer after a successful start. | ~$400–600 |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W class | Stronger shot at mid-watt cookers; big hobs still drain fast. | Accept short cook + expand/solar for round two. | ~$600–900+ |
| BLUETTI AC200L Best chance | 2,048 Wh · 2,400 W class | Best continuous + Wh in this set for a brief induction window — still not unlimited hob time. | One solid meal when you size W honestly. | ~$800–1,100 |
