Phone / tablet charge — Wh honesty

Easiest win on any station — phones and tablets are tiny Wh. Prefer USB over wall bricks; multi-day math is friendly. Heavier than this: laptop blackout · keep the link up with Wi‑Fi / modem backup.

USB first — easiest Wh win, multi-day math

  • Phones / tablets are the cheap Wh load. A phone charge is often ~10–20 Wh; a tablet ~20–40 Wh. Even a small ~300 Wh station can cover many full top-ups (estimates). This is the easiest honesty win on any EcoFlow / Anker / BLUETTI / Jackery box.
  • USB beats wall brick. Station USB‑A / USB‑C ports skip inverter losses. Plugging a wall charger into AC works but wastes Wh. Use PD / QC ports when available; keep OEM cables if the brand requires them.
  • Multi-day math is friendly. At ~15 Wh/phone/day, a mid ~1 kWh station after inverter/headroom still covers dozens of phone-days — or several people for a storm weekend. Pair with storm blackout kit priorities.
  • Vs laptop / Wi‑Fi: a laptop is still light but higher continuous W — laptop blackout. Connectivity needs the modem/router sized separately — Wi‑Fi / modem backup. Apartment / festival: apartment blackouts · festival camping.
  • Don’t oversize for phones alone. If the only job is phones + tablets + LEDs, a small station often wins on cost and stairs. Expand packs matter more when you add fridge, CPAP, or multi-day WFH.

Phone / tablet Wh estimates

Charges ≈ (rated Wh × 0.85) ÷ Wh per device charge · USB path preferred over AC brick.

Phone ~15 Wh/charge

Many top-ups

1 kWh ≈ ~50+ phone charges (est.) after losses

Tablet ~30 Wh

Still tiny

~25–30 tablet top-ups on ~1 kWh (estimates)

Vs laptop / Wi‑Fi

Phone wins on Wh

Laptop and router burn more continuous W

Model Wh · continuous AC Phone / tablet fit Vs laptop / Wi‑Fi / kit honesty Approx. USD
EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus Pocket 286 Wh · 600 W Easy many phone/tablet charges via USB; overkill only if phones are the sole job. Still room for LEDs; laptop/router stack eats this faster — laptop. ~$180–300
Anker SOLIX C300 288 Wh · 300 W Strong USB‑C for phones/tablets; classic “easiest win” box. Festival / apartment phone bank — festival. ~$200–280
Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Weekend 1,070 Wh · 1,500 W Multi-person weekend of phones/tablets with headroom (estimates). Add Wi‑Fi before promising streaming too. ~$499–589
BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W Similar ~1 kWh phone-bank math — USB ports do the real work. Skip AC bricks when USB can feed the devices. ~$380–500
Anker SOLIX C1000 Expand 1,056 Wh → 2,112 Wh · 1,800 W Expand packs help multi-day storms when phones share a kit with fridge/lights. See storm kit priority order. ~$400–600
EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus 1,024 Wh · 1,800 W class Solid storm weekend phones + tablets + router + LEDs. Apartment / WFH extras — apartment. ~$600–900+
BLUETTI AC200L Best headroom 2,048 Wh · 2,400 W class Best Wh in this set when phones share a multi-day household kit. Phones alone never need this size — expand for fridge / laptop stacks. ~$800–1,100
